"For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me. Then these righteous ones will reply, 'Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink? Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing? When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?' Then the King will say, 'I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you where doing it to me!'"

Dia Tres

Hey Everyone!

Today was a very fulfilling day for everyone. God blessed us with amazing, warm weather today. There wasn't a drop of rain until we got back to Villa Gracia to play soccer! This morning, we got out to the community and whipped out two more houses in about 6 hours. It's unbelievable how dramatically someone's house can change in six hours. We started with a floorless, square hut made from sticks and mud and constructed a 256 square foot, wooden house complete with a wooden floor. The house that the group built is now the home of a single father and his three children. There was quite a crowd at the construction site today. Villagers of all ages were trying to find ways to help, whether they were nailing in the floor or working the chainswaw. It's amazing to see all the people helping out knowing that what they're doing won't directly benefit them. Even though there's never really enough work to go around, everyone in the group is always finding some way to help the locals. Today we met a little nino that always had a smile on his face. It made his day to be given a pair of old Spider-man flip-flops that were donated by one of the members of our group. Everyone in the community is grateful for what they have. It moves us all in TREMENDOUS ways. Tomorrow we have new activities, but we hope to have the same effect on the people we encounter.
